Raising our 3rd Irish Flag(Ag ardú an Gael bhratach)!!!!

On Wednesday the 18th of November we were lucky enough to receive our 3rd Irish flag for the school after all the hard work we have put in so far using Irish throughout our daily routines. We had a fun day of songs, poems and games in Irish! We also even had our own trath na gceist (table quiz) in Irish which we really enjoyed. Have a look below!!!

The Great Famine of Ireland.

Over the past month we have been completing lots of work regarding the famine in Ireland. We really enjoyed getting to cover lots of elements within this topic such as famine ships, the blight and emigration. We also looked in great detail at the various aspects within these famine ships and how people were often placed into two categories depending on how much they could afford for their ticket. Have a look at some of the amazing work we completed on the famine.

Science Week with Ginny Smith 2020

As part of Science week we got the chance to learn lots about our senses and how we have more than 5 main senses. We looked closely at how 10% of the food we eat affects our brain. We also learned that we have more connections in our brains than there are stars in the galaxy. We also discovered how many of ours senses are connected and how if one of our senses is blocked another may become heightened. We also completed different experiments that showed this.

We have started report writing this month. We looked at the layout of various reports and we decided on the first report that we would do together would be on Michael J Fox. We all collected different points of information regarding his life and career. We then completed our own individual finished pieces. Have a look at our great work below. We then got to work on and complete our own report pieces regarding an animal of our choice. We really enjoyed collecting all the information for this!!!

Yesterday we got the chance to go outside as part of National outdoor learning. We really enjoyed getting to work outside.
