Autism Awareness Day
On Friday 11th June, the pupils and staff of St. Tiarnach’s, celebrated Autism Awareness Day. We carried out lots of activities on inclusion and everyone was given lots of information on autism (ASD) and how children and adults who have autism are affected by it in different ways. Pupils and staff all wore something blue on the day. The Réalta classes are an integral part of school life and pupils and teachers shared their experiences, challenges and talents. It was a day of fun, learning activities, Powerpoint presentations and face painting. At the end of the day all of our pupils from the Réalta classes each released a helium balloon to end the day of celebrations. Well done to everyone involved in organising the event, particularly Múinteoir Michelle, Múinteoir Anita and Múinteoir Mary from the Réalta classes.
It was a very special and wonderful day and enjoyed by everyone, especially by our pupils from the Réalta classes! Comghairdeas libh!
